Many teachers have school-issued Tablet PCs. Others have something different.
Computers are replaced when they get too old. When desktops reach 5 years of age and laptops reach 4 years of age they are retired. If you happen to be using an about-to-be-retired computer, you may get a say in what computer replaces it, i.e., in what your next computer will be. In recent years, however, we pushed tablets on teachers in an effort to build a common community of users, teachers and students.
Retired computers are donated to schools and other non-profits in the area, schools overseas, and to private individuals in our community, including teachers and staff.
The school has provided some add-ons -- laptop bags, wireless keyboard/mouse sets -- in the past, but I think will do less of that sort of thing moving forward: it takes I.S. too much time to buy, distribute, and track all the little bits, and they are very much a matter of taste.
